IIM at the Basic Level
The Basic Level of IIM teaches the foundation skills that allow students to begin research at any grade level and prepares them for advanced research.
The Group Process is a good introduction to or review of Basic Level research at any grade level where the class studies one topic together.
The Independent Process teaches the key skills of research at each of the seven steps as students work independently to complete their research assignment.
IIM at the Proficient Level
The Proficient Level of IIM is for older students with more research experience who are expected to use higher-level research skills.
The Group Process models or reviews the Basic Level of IIM in 7 days in preparation for advanced independent studies.
The Independent Process requires students to use more advanced techniques to carry out independent research assignments.
